Percentage Calculator

Answer the three everyday percentage questions in one pass: percent of a whole, value from a percent, and percentage change.

Percent of a whole Value from percent Percentage change

Set your percentage inputs

The four fields feed three independent percentage views in the result.

The value used as the numerator and comparison value.
The denominator for “A is what percent of B?”
The reference value for percent change.
The rate applied to the base value.

Inputs stay in your browser. A zero denominator is handled as an invalid comparison.

Three percentage questions, clearly separated

The calculator keeps “what percent is A of B?” separate from “what is X% of a value?” and from percentage change, because each uses a different relationship between the inputs.

01

Percent of a whole

Value A ÷ Value B × 100 gives the share of the whole. Value B cannot be zero for this view.

02

Percentage change

(Value A − Base value) ÷ Base value × 100 measures movement relative to the entered base. Negative means a decrease.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can this percentage calculator calculate?

It calculates what percent Value A is of Value B, the result of applying a percent to a base value, and percentage change from the base value to Value A.

Do all four fields need to be filled?

Use Value A and Value B for the percent-of result, Base value and Percent for the value-from-percent result, and Base value with Value A for percentage change.

How do I calculate percentage change?

The calculator uses (Value A − Base value) ÷ Base value × 100. A negative result means Value A is lower than the base.

Can I enter negative values?

Yes. The calculator accepts signed values, but a zero whole value cannot produce a percent-of result and a zero base cannot produce percentage change.

Does percentage change equal percentage difference?

Not always. This page reports change relative to the entered base value; percentage difference uses a different denominator and is not calculated here.
